Family Tie - Leaving Sao Paulo

Well after serving with this tie for a year, it is now time for Elder Iverson to pass it to Elder Jones in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This tie has traveled the world with all the Elders in the family starting with Eric Hellstrom who served in Germany in 1990.  It has since been worn by Matt Dixon - Recife, Brazil, Tyler Dixon - Recife, Brazil, Jay Carnahan -  Calgary Edmonton, Canada, Ben Carnahan - North Dakota, Ian Stanger - England, and Spencer Ferrin - Los Angles.  It has a few more Elders to go through, let's pray for its safety and durability!

The Parable of the Talents

We also had a ward activity on Saturday that was incredible. The night of the Talent. They had to use our talents smartly so that they could arrive in the Celestial Kingdom. It was a great activity. And well put together. The theme was the parable of the talents as Christ told it.

An Apostle in Osasco!

On Friday I had the chance to interview someone to be baptized. IN English. That was weird. ::) He is from Haiti and speaks French, Spanish, English, and is learning Port. And so I did the interview in English. :) wow that was more difficult then I wanted it to be.

On Saturday we had a chance to talk to Elder Anderson and Elder Aduktis :) wow what a cool day. I got to see all my friends from the other area, and catch up how the work is going there, and the spirit we felt with Elder Anderson was incredible. He is a stud. He talked about the power of the Atonement. And that for us to be able to explain the Atonement we have to feel the change of heart. We need to be moved before we can move. And as Missionaries it is difficult. We have every reason (in the worlds eyes) to be sad. But we have every reason to be happy. We are experiencing the Atonement in action, we see it in us, we see it in our investigators. The Atonement is what drives us. It is was gives us desire.

How much influence does the Atonement have in your life?:)

Then on Sunday we had a special conference in the stake where Elder Anderson again came and talked about the temple and blessing that we have with a temple. :) He was a big celeb. It was the first time an Apostle came to Osasco. :) all in all this week was a good one. We had a blast and it is now a new transfer. I will be staying here, which means I will now be titled Assassin. ;) We have a lot of work to do, and so little time to do it. Are we doing our part?:)

HUMP DAY

Then on Thursday I guess that I have been an official missionary for a year.... that’s crazy. I got a sweet package from mom. I loved all the photos, and the stuffed camel that I even received. The present that I got for turning 1 year old was a cold day.:) For the first time in 6 weeks it was cold and rained a little. And for a little boy from PC the cold was well welcomed.

Elder Hurd & the Talent Show

On Tuesday me and Elder Hurd had a split. (Started from the bottom now we’re here) And what a split it  was. We found another family of 5 people to teach. And when we had the chance to teach them they loved it. The dad of the family Marcelo said “Wow, it makes sense, the other churches teach random things from the bible, and you guys actually explain the stuff”. They have three kids of 13, 8 and 1yr 6months. They are incredible. When we visited again in the week the 8 year old Pedro explained to his older brother Igor what we had taught. He even used some of the examples that we used while teaching. What a smart kiddo.

Family Home Evening - Go Fremont!

How’s it going my friends :) This week was incredible.

To start of on Monday we had a FHE with Dayana, Pedro, Ludimilla (1), and Claudinei. (photos) and it is good to know that even here in Brasil we have Fremont Fans ;) But it was a great time there; we had a sweet message of standards. And our lives like an airplane. If the parts are not built to the standard the plane will crash. And so if our lives aren't in the standards of the gospel our plane ride will be really bumpy.
