Go There Often

We had a great time today in the temple. The spirit was so strong, and I love to go to the temple. Wow, we are blessed there in Utah to have our own temple :) Go there often. 

This week was a killer one, not literally (don’t worry mom :)

This is Kemily. She is a doll. She is 8 and
we are helping her, her cousin, and aunt be baptised soon!

To start out, I don't know if I said it, but we are teaching Sandra, Ryan, and Kemily.  There is another girl that lives in the same house. And when we got there one day she jumped out the window in order to not talk to us :) haha what a silly girl... IN the same family Ryan is a stud. He this week asked me if i knew all the words in English... :) haha I was like I think so.. so he quizzed me. :) This is a very special family that loved the church on Sunday and said that they will return, we just need to help Sandra stop smoking and she will be baptized. 

As with our Atheist friend. He is going good. He came to church again. And still is feeling like he doesn't feel anything. He is a killer kid. He is smart, and he wants to learn, but for now he says he "Cant believe" We will see about that. We have some of the most spiritual lessons. The most latest I showed pictures of home, and E Araujo decided to take the "Elder Iverson is rich, and could be home enjoying his money, but he is here telling you that God exists." I was just like ..... oh my comp.... :)

We this week were called witch doctors. haha :) Some little church that opened is calling us out.. The little girls are confused about what they should do. One thing that is very sad is the power that Satan has to confuse people. Doubts and Fear come from him. We need to have faith and confidence. Faith is confidence that The Lord will help us out. 

Something that my good friend Elder Farias and I were talking about today was the Book of Mormon. When you think about it, a 14yr old boy went to a forest, and claimed to see God, and founded what he claims to be the Church of Christ. There are only two options: He is the smartest 14 yr old boy in the history of the world to write the Book of Mormon, start a church, write D&C, Pearl of Great Price. A 14 yr old boy couldn’t have thought that up. Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet of God on the earth. He restored the Church that our Savior organized 2000 years ago. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of Christ.

I challenge everyone to strengthen your testimony. :)

Elder Iverson

The power went out and I was writing in the dark by candle light, I felt like Moroni or something writing the scirptures :) 

You KNOW You're in Caucaia...

Flags are in the streets are for the June and July parties. It is random. Here they were like, We should have a party, lets have a party in June or July. And These flags are a tradition. Also straw hats, and large bonfires, and square dancing. 

The soccer fields are all over and look like this...... (sinto falta de jogar bola)

And Here in Caucaia you see everything and anything. this picture is our the bar that one of our memebers has. And yes the member is active :) haha Brasil :) I love Caucaia!!!!!!

Dogs are everywhere, but this one was especial cute with very blue eyes. 

 When you go to the market, sometimes you dont know what you will find :) haha silly cat. And Dad you asked what the cat says in Brasil it is the same sound but they spell it "Miau" :)  

Special Friends

This is Laura. She is the neice of Maisa who is in the next foto. She was baptized a little bit before I got here in Caucaia. 

That would be the "grande" Beca... he is our Ward mission leader. :)  We bought a pizza with Ananias (Beca´s dad) and yes Beca because of fubeca ;) haha 

And this is my friend Marcos. He is hilarious  We did a contact with him, and he stopped in the middle of the contact and was like "You know something, you look like Tom Cruise".. :) haha and so, he now calls me Tom Cruise. And I love it. He even took a picture with me to show his friends. :) During a lesson Marcos gave a sweet testimony of us. He starting saying stuff like. These guys are true friends, they will help you get out of a tough spot. They are representatives of Christ. :) me and E Araujo sat there like "What?? this is the coolest thing ever"" Gods uses who he wants when he wants. ;)

Festavle Hat

These three kiddos are some of our investigators. Kemily (Kem-i-le)8 Ryan 9, e Kaio 7 .  The hat is a hat that the Brasilians use in their June and July festavles. He was getting ready to go to a party. :) so we snagged a photo. 

"Who Let the Dogs Out"

What a week :) We were able to do a whole lot and the weeks are passing by what seems like days. We are now teaching a variety of people. This week we started teaching a 7th day Adventist. We were teaching the lesson, it was all going good and the gma of the family was just sitting there listening. And she stopped me while I was talking "What day do you sanctify?" I was like crap...... We responded Sunday and they went into their but God commandant Saturday, and it was great. We showed Acts 20 that shows the apostles ate the sacrament on Sunday. But they wanted nothing of it. So I was like, "if I wasn’t a missionary, you would received a verbal take down.” But as Christ's representatives we need to love everyone. So I kindly forgot (or acted like she didn’t say anything) and continued talking :) haha fun fun. 

Another person we are teaching is our Atheist Friend. In good news, he came to church, so for the sacrament meeting, and said "if I receive a divine inspiration I will return" haha :) this kiddo is 15 and we have some of the most spiritual lessons with him!! His house is literally exploding with the spirit and we are like, "DUDE, do you not feel this!!!!" And he is like "no...." which is really frustrating. I am like take this. He is an atheist that reads the BoM and prays but feels nothing.

We started to teach Saudra and her family this week. Her son is Ryan.(from the photo) They are great people that lack compromise. But the kids Ryan and Kemily came to church and they loved it!! :) nothing is better than when people come to church and feel the spirit there. 

As for the "highlight" of the week. My comp was bitten by a dog!!! What??? haha We being the good little boys that we are helped a lady with her groceries. And we were like oh what did you buy. O Food for my dogs. My four dogs. :) We were like cool. We turned the corner and the dogs come running at us. They started out nice and friendly. They sniffed and ran around harmlessly. Then when I left the bag, and Elder Araujo the little shopping cart the dogs went nuts, the four started to attack Elder Araujo!!! and he was kicking and one bit him!!! I was inside the gate of the house I was shocked. Araujo ran behind the gate and closed himself in. I was like, I am out of here, and bounced, one dog came after me, I was like "Nuhuh" haha :) and ran. And the poor little old lady with her cane was confused and scared. 2 girls helped put the dogs inside.... and then we left. The Sweet lady told my comp. "If anything happens come back here" he said as we were walking away "If anything happens I’ll go to the cemetery" haha… My goofball comp.

But that was the week. We are liking the area and the craziness of Caucaia. There is a lot of crazy stuff that happens, but don’t worry through it all the Lord is protecting us. :) I love you all :) have a great week,

The Jungle Cold

It is getting cold. Cold enough for a sweeter and jacket, and Scarf!!! What!!! :) 

So the weather is like three days hot and then three cold.  Every night and morning is cold :) I love the weather to sleep, but getting up is a drag :)

Multi-zona Conference

We hit up the temple this week. Well at least we saw the temple. We had Multi-zona and took pictures. 

Elder Correa had a little scare. His face halfway was paralizied. And he can talk but with one side of his face. Poor kid. But he is getting better. 

That would he the Elder Sales. Who I shared a lot of time with. He will be going home in the next few weeks.
