Goodbye to a Great Friend... Hello New Friends

Good-byes are hard to say!  Elder Jacobson & Elder Barros are moving on and we will miss them. Elder Jacobson has been a GREAT friend, excellent trainer, and amazing missionary.

  

And so it begins. The 4th trasferencia here in Morumbi. And as you will from the pictures, Elder Iverson received a new comp. Elder Corrêa :) He is a stud. He has 10 months on his mission, and he is from Pananá a state that is just under São Paulo. He is a crazy good cook, and he will teach me to make some good food. He also brought some tea, that I have fallen in love with. I don’t know what it is about Brasil, but I have started to like weird herbal drinks ;) haha He has a sincere heart, and always is kind. He is a little more timid that Elder Jacobson, but that is alright. He is great teacher, and loves musica. I wont lie, he took me by surprise when we were walking in the street and started to sing "I Wont Give Up" by Jason Maraz, I was like "Woah dawg, what is that?" and he loves that song, so he is pretty sweet if I do say so my self :) He reminds me a lot of Jake Jones, minus the fact that Jake speaks English, and Corrêa speaks Port, but we are working on the English with him. Last Night we had a lesson on prayer. And he was able to say a prayer in English. So we will leave this companionship with him speaking English and me speaking Port better. 

haha and clearly to celebrate a new transferencia we bought pizza :)

Baptism Party

On Friday we had a lesson with Lourdes. She was the lady that came to church this Sunday the 25th, and asked "What can I do to affiliate myself with this church?" aka "Baptize me" :) so of Friday we had the chance to teach her about the Restoration of the Gospel, she loved it!!!! and we taught with the spirit, and we talked to her about what this means. So then we talked about baptism, and she said yes!!!!! 

She told us a story that she smoked a lot when she was younger, and three years ago she stopped cold turkey. And you could just tell that she realized that the Lord is preparing her to be baptized. She will be baptized on the 14th :) We invited her to a FHE in the house of Filipe, a member in our ward, and she said yes. We also called Maria and Guilherme, whose picture you see with Ana Maria. The investigators are Guilherme, and on his side his mom Maria. Friday we called around and planned this FHE and everything worked out more than I thought it would :) 

We picked up Maria and Guilherme and walked to the top of our area to the house of Filipe. And we had a FHE. This was one of the best things we could have done. Our Ward Mission Leader was there, and he was awesome. We played the Testimony Game, which is simply a game that you have three items, and you have to choose one to take out of your life completely. Then I would put another thing down and they choose again. Until we arrive at one thing :) and it always starts with things like cars, cellphones, tv, and movies to things like family, priesthood, and finally testimony. Normally everyone chooses testimony as most important, and then we (the missionaries) share our testimonies. But this time we did something a little different. I asked everyone to bear a simple testimony about the feelings they had. It was so amazing, Maria started to cry and the spirit was so strong. I finished with my testimony, and confirmed that this is the only church that has the means to have our families be together forever. It was so awesome, and the only thing that Jonathon our Ward Mission Leader just said was  "WOW" :) 

And then we ate, and while we were eating Lourdes told me something that made my mission "You guys told me to pray for an answer, and I prayed, and I was looking at some talks of the prophet, and I read it, and nothing has been a more clear answer for me." YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) wow, that was incredible ...... so needless to say, Lourdes is ready for her baptism :) and she is so ready, that she went and picked up our other investigators :) haha how awesome is she!!!!! 

Sunday was good, we had Maria, Guilherme, and Lourdes at the church. Elders quorum was kind of a bust, it was a training, and really boring for an investigator. But the day after the church was great. We taught Maria and Guilherme again with Irmã Ana Maria. And we also challenged them to be baptized. They also accepted, and so on the 14th Morumbi will have a baptism party :)

Elder Jacboson - My GOOD GOOD Friend

We got word that Elder Jacobson is headed out, and I will get my new companion Elder Corrêa. :) I don’t know him yet, but all will be good, after a good 3 transfers with Elder Jacobson we have become good good friends :) and it is good to know that I will be here for the baptisms, Elder Jacobson thinks that he will return :) 

"The Banana Guy!"

We found a less active, that is as I call him "The Brasilian Banana Guy".   He sells all things bananas, literally everything, even his car has a giant banana :) But he sells banana chips here, and they are literally chips, they taste no different than Potato chips!! It is really interesting. But we taught them, I am not sure if you guys know that game when you have three cups, and three knifes and you need to support something in the middle? We are using this game to teach people the importancia of reading scriptures, praying, and going to church. :) and if we are doing these three things together, our family will be protected from the advisary. So everyone, remember that we need to read, pray, and go to church :) and the Lord, will bless us. 

Zone Celebration

Today we had the chance to eat with President Del Guerso. Our Zone broke the record for our Zone the past to months. :) and so president helped out the clan, and we ate at a really nice place next to the temple :) It was very nice.

As for other news, my Journal official ran out, and I started another yesterday!!!!

Power of the Lord in My Work

Well this week was one that will not be forgotten anytime soon :) I got some packages this week, and one had Mac, and Cheese, the Brazilian in our apartment loved it :) HAHA 

Insights about my self? >) wow wow

I think that I learned that I am not as patient as I thought I was. I have only a little trouble at times with some things, but nothing too big. I am also learning about the power of the Lord in my work.
